We use Carbonite to back up the files on our computers including documents, pictures, and videos. For us the ease of using Carbonite is one of the best things we have. I can just check each computer to see what has been backed up by just looking at the colored dots next to each file.
Now with every program, there are pros and cons, so let's look at both and see if Carbonite is the software for you.
Pros
The ease in which to see if the files are backed up. The color dots next to the files will let you know if and when it has been backed up. Like the green light, it indicates that it is backed up and brown would let you know that it will be backed up the next time.
Carbonite will send email updates to let you know your usage and if there is any problems.
When the worst happens you need the backups they are there to get them to you and make sure that it is ready to go. So it gives you peace of mind.
I find that their knowledge base is helpful to everyone. You can get your questions answered.
Cons
It is hard to find any but if I had to dig for one I would have to say would be that having the back, not onsite makes some feel uncomfortable.
Summary
There are many different backup products out there but I have found by far that Carbonite is both efficient and safe to use. Their customer service is great with questions and they are quick to help you. For me, it has added peace of mind.
